Improvement Plan 2009-2011

COLLEGE IMPROVEMENT PLAN : STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES2009-2011
1.         To improve student attainment and engagement through:
1.1.      The effective implementation of the Pastoral Restructuring Plan, including systems for student guidance, support and Mentoring
1.2.      Further development of the Post 16 target-setting and tracking systems, including the full implementation of ALPS
1.3.      Full implementation of the Behaviour Management Policy with a hierarchy of interventions to improve student behaviour and foster a culture for learning
1.4.      Extended opportunities for developing Student leadership and Voice, Community Engagement and Multi-cultural and global awareness

2.         To provide a relevant, coherent and engaging curriculum that provides for the needs and aspirations of learners of all ability through:
2.1       An enhanced and extended Year 9 curriculum delivered through innovative and inspiring approaches which embed PLTS, cross-curricular links and compelling learning experiences
2.2       Implementation of the next phase of the 14-19 curriculum developments to increase opportunities for student choice and personalisation

3.         To improve the quality of Teaching and Learning to at least good in all subject teams through:
3.1       The consistent approach to classroom practice, assessment, marking and feedback
3.2       A well-planned programme of CPD that addresses individual and team needs based on a rigorous analysis of current teaching skills and performance data, both pre and post 16
3.3       Raising the standards of literacy with a co-ordinated programme that establishes key expectations of students and teachers

4.         To further improve the quality of leadership to at least good at all levels within the College through:
4.1       The implementation of a robust support and training programme for staff to address identified needs

5.          To improve the quality of support staff team delivery to at least good in all areas through:
5.1.       Delivering an effective training programme that will further develop leadership skills
5.2.       Confirming service delivery expectations by agreeing common criteria and team specific criteria
5.3.       Developing and embedding Quality Assurance monitoring and evaluation systems and procedures
