Childcare and Development
Here, our GCSE Child Development students are helping to supervise a group of visiting pre-school children. The children enjoyed looking around the different departments in the Skills and Enterprise Building and then returned to Acorns Nursery.
Our Society, Health and Development students worked closely with the learners from Foxes Academy as part of their Communication unit. Here they are enjoying an animal handling session in the small animal department.
The Health, Social Care and Early Years courses have been running for many years, but in September of 2009 we were able to expand our provision as we moved into our fantastic new facilities within the Skills and Enterprise Building. The facilities comprise:
· Acorns Training Nursery
· A sensory room
· Kitchen
· Outdoor play area
· Observation booth and sound system
· Classrooms with computers
· Smartboard
Course currently on offer include:
· CACHE LEVEL 3 Diploma in Child Care and Education
· Health and Social Care level 2 qualifications
· Applied A Level in Health and Social Care
· GCSE Child Development
